What a surprise! We visited the museum on a Thursday evening work my 2 boys. It was free that evening. The museum had a ton of hands on things for the kids to explore as we made our way through. They enjoyed it a lot which meant we did too! We were actually able to look at things and read the signage. It was a great way too show the history of our country and the importance the waterways in its development. – jjallen76
Who Knew this would be so interesting? A Canoe Museum? I thought it would be boring… quite the contrary! This is a thoughtful, interesting and extremely well designed exhibit. Rather than focus on Peterborough’s (significant) role in canoe and boat building, it gives a panoramic view of Canadian history, which also (finally) includes the Canadian Arctic. This is well worth a visit, and more than once. There is also a charming gift shop with unique items. – Katherine P
