PETERBOROUGH, July 24, 2018 — The Canadian Canoe Museum has gratefully received a $22,000 contribution from the Golfing Gals Who Give– proceeds from a June 14 golf tournament that took place at Wildfire Golf Club.

The golf tournament saw 98 women participate and included live and silentauctions, along with dinner. Proceeds will support the museum’s ongoing operations locally, and its outreach initiatives across the country.

“On behalf of Golfing Gals Who GiveCo-Chairs Jane Clegg and Bev Ritchie, I can say that we were very pleased to choose The Canadian Canoe Museum as the recipient of our golf tournament proceeds,” said Dr. Jenny Ingram.

“Together with the museum, we worked with a wonderful group of volunteers to create a unique camping-themed golf event. As a member of the museum’s Board of Directors, I was particularly pleased that so many of our guest golfers and supporters were introduced to the organization’s exciting plans for the future.”

The tournament was supported by more than a dozen local businesses, including title sponsor McCloskey International.

“The museum is grateful to the community members who organized this event, and to all those who stepped forward as sponsors. We also thank all those who participated. The funds will support the museum, as we work with individuals, groups and communities to experience and explore all that the collection has to offer,” said Carolyn Hyslop, Executive Director.

Participants had the opportunity to dress up to reflect the theme of the event – Around The Campfire. Pictured here are (left to right) Kalen Ingram, Cindy Hobbs, Marian Van Bruinessen, and Jenny Ingram.
