Visiting us from Toronto? Take the round-trip Canoe Bus for a ticket to adventure and exploration!
This summer and fall, enjoy our brand-new Canoe Bus service, offering convenient transportation from Toronto’s St Clair Station to our doors and docks in Peterborough and back.
Discover the stories behind the world’s largest collection of canoes, kayaks, and paddled watercraft and explore the lake beyond the Museum’s docks in a canoe or kayak.
Whether you’re a museum buff, a canoeing enthusiast, or looking for a unique outing, the Canoe Bus makes it easy to embark on an unforgettable experience.

Schedule
8:00 AM: Pick up outside the St. Clair station on Pleasant Boulevard in Toronto. Depart for Peterborough.
10:00 AM: Drop off at the entrance to The Canadian Canoe Museum.
10:00 AM – 3:00 PM: Explore our brand-new, state-of-the-art home on the water’s edge! Discover 6 exhibits in the Exhibition Hall where you can hear many different perspectives and find learning opportunities through informative panels and fun interactives and hands-on experiences. Peer into the Collection Hall through large windows and see 500+ watercraft, highlighting the breadth of the collection. Explore the 5-acre lakefront campus and get out on the water in a canoe or kayak. Enjoy lunch at the onsite Silver Bean Cafe and visit out store and grab a memento to remind you of your trip.
3:00 PM: Return to the bus and depart for Toronto.
5:00 PM: Drop back off on Pleasant Blvd.
Departure Times & Pick Up Location
The Canoe Bus will pick up and depart from Pleasant Boulevard, outside the St. Clair subway station in Toronto, ON at 8 AM. Look for The a sign in the windsheilf that says Canoe Bus!
If you are driving to the Canoe Bus, there is a parking garage nearby located at 40 Pleasant Boulevard.
Cancellation Policy
Full refunds of deposits or other payments are possible for reservations if cancellation requests are made by email more than 25 days before departure. To cancel your ticket, please email [email protected] with the name(s) your ticket is purchased under.
Payments can be transferred to new dates if reservations are rebooked before the refund deadline.
When cancellation requests are made less than 25 days before departure, an administration fee of 50% of the total ticket fee will be retained.
Refunds will be made through our online reservation system and are applied to the same credit card that was used to secure the original booking. Please note that refunds may take several days to be processed.
FAQs
Are there washrooms on the Canoe Bus?
The Canoe Bus does not have washrooms. We recommend using a washroom before boarding for a comfy trip!
Is the Canoe Bus fully accessible?
The Canoe Bus is unfortunately not fully accessible. There is space to store mobility aids beneath the bus, but no way to board the bus with mobility aids such as wheelchairs, and no accessible seats available on the bus. We hope to offer fully accessible options to our Canoe Bus program in the future.
