Group Visits

We welcome groups of all ages to The Canadian Canoe Museum!

Bringing a large group of friends, have a special event or interest group?

You can request a reservation for groups and take advantage of early bookings, special rates and
more.

You can learn all you need to know about bringing a group to the Museum here, including information on booking, group size and rates.

Rates

General admission for groups, which must comprise a minimum of 10 visitors, are as follows:

Groups are welcome during regular business hours.
Groups must book their visit and any add-ons 30 days in advance to take advantage of volume pricing.

Group Experience Add-Ons

General Admission tickets must be purchased to qualify for a Group Experience Add-On.

For those groups who are interested in an in-depth understanding of the Museum, we recommend a guided tour of the Exhibition Hall with a trained Docent to enrich the stories found in the displays and artifacts.

Group Rates:

  • Adults: $18.00
  • Senior (65+): $16.00
  • Youth (5-17): $13.00
  • Child (0-4): Free

Duration: Approximately 1 hour

Timing: Guided Tours commence at 11:00 AM at the base of the main stairs.

Upon booking, you may advise of your group’s specific interests for a focused tour (e.g.: construction techniques, wilderness travel, watersheds).

Content discussed on tours is suitable for all ages. However, we do remind visitors that the hour is predominantly standing and listening and ask you to be considerate and mindful of the group’s experience.

The Voyageur Canoe Tour is an on-water paddling experience in which groups learn about the surrounding waterways from the vantage point of a 26-foot North Canoe. The Canoe Guide, Personal Flotation Device, and paddles are all-inclusive. Participants must weigh 15 kg or more, and children need to be accompanied by an adult or guardian.

  • Adults: $38.00
  • Senior (65+): $36.00
  • Youth (5-17): $22.00
  • Child (0-4): Free

Duration: Approximately 90 minutes

Timing: Tours depart from the Lakefront Canoe House at 10:30 AM OR 2:30 PM, available daily from May 18 (Victoria Day Weekend) to October 14 (Thanksgiving Weekend), weather and water conditions permitting.

Enjoy a hand-crafted, artisanal lunch made with local ingredients and love from the Museum’s onsite café, the Silver Bean Cafe.

Group Rate: $20 / guest

Choose from one wrap or sandwich with a selection of one drink, service gratuity inclusive:

  • Hummus Wrap (Vegan)
  • Chevre Pear & Walnut Sandwich (Vegetarian)
  • Chicken Avocado Sandwich
  • Drink: Choice of soft drink, chocolate milk, Black River juice, Perrier, or a local soda.

Timing: Can be scheduled before or after your group experience.

Upon booking, please indicate any food allergies.

Deluxe Group Packages

These packages include general admission to the Museum and are priced per guest.

A curatorial-trained Docent will take you behind the glass into the Collections Hall to tell stories of artifacts currently not on display in the Exhibition Hall.

Group Rates:

  • Adults: $75.00
  • Senior (65+): $73.00
  • Youth (5-17): $70.00
  • Child (0-4): Free

Duration: Approximately 1 hour

Timing: Tours commence at 1:00 PM.

The VIP experience at the Canadian Canoe Museum is an immersive full-day experience featuring indoor and outdoor adventures! This package includes a tour of the Exhibition Hall, a tour of the Collection Hall with a curatorial-trained Docent, lunch provided by the Silver Bean Cafe, a Voyageur Canoe Tour of Little Lake with a Canoe Guide, and an Après Canoe on the Museum’s Upper Terrace.

Group Rates:

  • Adults: $350.00
  • Senior (65+): $330.00
  • Youth (12-17): $300.00

Duration: Approximately 5 hours

Timing: VIP experience commences at 10:00 AM.

Upon booking, please indicate any food allergies, select food options and advise the group’s specific area of interest for Tour Guides.

All guests participating in the VIP experience must be 12 years old or above.

Available May-October due to the paddling season.

Group Cancellation Policy

If a group cancels within 14 days of the requested tour date, a refund minus a $50 administration fee will be issued. In the case of a no-show by the group, no refund will be issued. A written confirmation by email is required for cancellations.

Voyageur Canoe Tours operate rain or shine from May to October. The tour will only be cancelled due to weather and water conditions if it is deemed unsafe by The Canadian Canoe Museum’s Canoe Guides. This includes electrical storms, high winds, or torrential rains. If the tour is cancelled due to weather and water conditions, the Group has the option of booking an alternate tour date/time or receiving a full refund of the tour amount.
