National Day for Truth & Reconciliation
September 30 @ 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
On the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, The Canadian Canoe Museum will be open from 10 AM to 5 PM, providing space for reflection, learning, and dialogue. We invite you to visit, explore, and engage with the stories, histories, and voices of Indigenous Peoples.
🌊 Explore the Exhibition Hall – Learn from the world’s largest collection of paddled watercraft, featuring exhibits that share the deep connections between Indigenous Peoples, land, and water through the lens of the canoe and kayak. Interactive activities and films offer insight into traditions, histories, and ongoing legacies.
🌿 Connect with the Land – Weather permitting, find a moment of peace and contemplation on the Lakefront Campus—whether through a walk along the water, a paddle on the lake, or simply taking in the natural beauty that surrounds us.
A Day of Reflection & Action
National Day for Truth & Reconciliation is not only a time to reflect on our complex, shared histories but a call to action. We encourage all visitors to listen, learn, and consider their role in reconciliation.
Miigwech, thank you, merci to all who choose to spend this day with us. Plan your visit today.
A reminder that admission is free for Indigenous visitors.
