Congratulations Victoria Grant

In the Museum

On behalf of everyone at The Canadian Canoe Museum, we would like to congratulate our board member, Victoria (Vicki) Grant on being added to the Order of Canada for extraordinary contributions list! Considered one of Canada’s highest civilian honours, the Order of Canada is meant to recognize people who make “extraordinary contributions to the nation,” according to the Governor General of Canada website. That defines our Vicki to a T.

Photo portrait of Victoria Grant outdoors with life jacket onVictoria’s list of achievements and accomplishments is long and shows how her passions drive her. She is of the Loon Clan, Teme-Augama Anishnabai, and a member of the Temagami First Nation. She is also the President and owner of Moving Red Canoe, which operates a unique professional services firm focused on Aboriginal affairs. She is an avid volunteer and a passionate voice for a more robust Aboriginal presence within the philanthropic world. Victoria is past Chair of Community Foundations of Canada and past Chair of The Circle on Philanthropy and Aboriginal Peoples in Canada. She has been our board chair since 2020 and is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award.

As you can clearly see, Victoria is so deserving of this extraordinary honour, we are all very proud of her achievements and we are so happy to have her on our team.
