Launching your Canoe or Kayak

If you are bringing your own canoe or kayak to the event, we have two spots available where you are welcome to launch. Our dock system on Little Lake, and our natural put in adjacent the main dock.

Parking

Whether you’re renting, in our voyageur canoe, or bringing your own watercraft – please park across the street from the Museum in the Eastgate parking lot. Ashburnham Drive gets busy, so make sure to take advantage of the crosswalk.

Museum Hours

The Canadian Canoe Museum will retain its regular business hours of 10:00am – 5:00pm on July 20. Rentals and voyageur canoe participants will still be able to return their canoe, kayak, PFDs, and paddles to the Canoe House, but not be able to access the Museum after 5pm.

Suggested Packing List

Dress for the weather. Sunscreen, hat, water bottle, snacks.

Lock & Paddle Event

The Lock & Paddle event is organized and facilitated by Parks Canada. Please note that this is not an event sanctioned or run by The Canadian Canoe Museum, although we have partnered with the great folks at Parks Canada in previous years. For more information or questions, we kindly direct you to their event page or Parks Canada itself.
