Carve a Wooden Spoon – February 8th, 2025

February 8, 2025 @ 12:00 PM 5:00 PM

Carve a wooden spoon with experienced carver, John Wager!

Start the class learning about safety and knife techniques before you begin carving your own spoon. John will guide you through the carving process using only hand tools, and you will see your spoon take shape through the day.

Learn about history, woodgrain, and knife techniques that you can apply to other carving projects.

Everyone leaves with a finished spoon!

No experience necessary is necessary to participate in this workshop!

About the instructor: My name is John Wager, I’m Michi Saagiig Anishinaabe from Curve Lake First Nation. I make and sell craft for a living along with teaching the skills I have learned along the way in workshops. I live on my reserve and I love my community. I carve lots of spoons but I also make Baskets, Knives, Bowls, Cups, Canoe Paddles, and even some leatherwork.
